During this weekend, which was marked by the transition to the year 2018, the President of the Union Babou Chkaya visited the Spanish community of Occitania in the federal states of Aragon, Rio de Nata and New-Igolstadt.
These federal state rights are located in the El Pueyo de Araguás municipality, in the Sobrarbe region, in the north of the Spanish province of Huesca, on the French border. The President also visited cultural sites in the municipalities of Bielsa, Ainsa and Boltaña. With the spainard community in Aragon, he spent the New Year's Eve respacting "the twelve grapes of luck" tradition (Las doce uvas de la suerte in spanish). The tradition consists of eating a grape with each bell strike at midnight of December 31. According to the tradition, that leads to a year of prosperity. On Monday, January 1, the president visited the rural territories of the federal state of Aragon to collect topographic data and take pictures to promote this territory. He climbed the Eastern Mountain, the highest point of Occitanian territory which rises to 885 meters. This trip will be the last of Chkaya, who will give way to Juan Cisneros, elected in December on January 15 next.
