Why the federal Government believes that voting to "leave" the GUM is the best option for Occitania

Introduction

Our parliament, the Vergadering will vote shortly, a law asking the Federal Court to hold a popular consultation that will submit to the people, whether our country should remain a member of GUM or not. The popular consultation should be organized in the middle of March 2018.

We will explain in three points why our union must leave the GUM.

G for Great ​disappointment

The Popular Union of Occitania is a full member of the GUM since this summer and this participation does nothing to improve our diplomatic situation. 

Our government had begun our integration into the GUM with the aim of establishing new diplomatic relations, to participate in exchanges, to unite us in a group sharing the same interest for the micronational world. 

​But it was not at all the experience that we have lived. Internally, the GUM collapses from the inside through its bureaucracy which causes inactivity in the form of a vicious circle. The former chairman, Henry Clément, cannot present any results because apart from running the day-to-day business he has had no plans for the future or large-scale projects.

U for Useless​

​For months the GUM sees its eminent members leaving, Abeldane a few days ago for example. The GUM in my opinion is dead. We can no longer stay in this ''empty shell''. There are neither plans for the future. 

From our side, we have developed and created our own commonwealth. ​We can if we leave the GUM, redistribute our diplomatic efforts towards our own organization.

M for ​Marginalization

"Commies", "populace" ... were adjectives to describe you, people of Occitania inside the GUM. Nations have despised us since our arrival, pseudo-emperors have been arrogant towards us. ​For our dignity, let's leave these hypocrites.

Occitania is a multicultural micronation with territories in many parts of the world, we now have about 70 citizens who are entitled to respect and dignity. Our coexistence is our strength.
